We discover the main character. Pedro Otzoup was a reserved, intelligent, somewhat somber, and very hardworking Russian architect. Although the “somber” part could be debated, as the properties he designed are full of vibrant colors and large arcades with cheerful views of the sea.
Among his works, he designed a casino located between Algiers and Monte Carlo, architecturally speaking, and filled it with modern paintings. Another project that earned him recognition among Spain’s high society was designing Claudia Schiffer’s house here in Mallorca.
In this way, we want to pay a small tribute to this architect who contributed so much to the architecture of Mallorca, with over 3,000 homes, primarily in the municipality of Calvià.
He spent much of his life on our island, away from the city and living at home like any other local Mallorcan. Since 2000, we can no longer enjoy his presence, but we continue to benefit from the works he left on our land.
